dvd-r = 1 speed writing
dvd+r = 2 speed writing but ps2 wont do +r

DVD-R is better m8, alot more compatible with DVD Players, etc.

That WAS true, but I burn at x2 speed all the time on my A03. Just need to update ya firmware !!

actually Pioneers A04 writes at 2x dvdr normally
and the ps2 will play dvd+r just depends on model - u need v5 or newer
