This topic is covered million times in this forum. Try looking through some of the older threads. Piece of advice. Get a modchip installed by pro..Don't waste your time trying to get the Knife swap..Your machine won't last with that trick.
Look for savings in the long run not just what's in front of you..

The easiest way to avoid opening your console is DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PLAY BACKUPS......
If you don't want to invest in a mod chip, BUY all original games and then you don't have to worry about it.... People that use the knife trick and etc..... usually are back in this forum wanting to know how to fix their PS2.... Get a GOOD mod chip and a GOOD installer and ENJOY everything else.....
