DVD Burner Specs

Well I am going to buy a DVD burner here pretty soon and I am kinda unsure on who is the best and what spec's to look for.

I plan on making backup's of all my DVD movies so I would want one that could do and and still have them play in my DVD player.

I hear that Pioneer is pretty good but are they the best? Plus, are there any burners out there that burn single and dule density disks? Sorry but I am really confused in this area. I Know load's about CD-RW drives, but I have never used any type of DVD drive in my life.

i dont think discs bigger than 4.3 gb are available right now.....its a shitty deal, as most .vob's are too big to fit on a single density disc. wait til the new ones come out to buy one, or else u might be disappointed.

the story about the pioneer is half true. there are dvd-r on the market who has 2 sides. the top and the bottem. you`ll have to turn the disc and continue burning. the burner you want has to be double layer supported. but there is no burner yet who can do that.
