Freedom Force patch

I'm not exactly sure how to use the patch files. I have downloaded the No- CD .rar patch for Freedom Force and extracted it using WinRAR. I then place the 3 files in the Freedom Force game directory (which includes the FForce.exe file). I start the game using the shortcut icon and when it asked for the CD, I just click on the Crack exe file, right? It doesn't seem to work...unless there is something else that needs to be done. Anyone have ideas? Thanks.
