yes its a dvd game well for pal anyway if u want to back up on cd-r i dont think there is a way so u will need to back it up using dvd-r just use primo make a gi.file on ur hard drive then burn it back to dvd-r have a look for old threads from charlie_ps2 on how to use primo if u cant find it let me know and ill send it to u as i have saved it some where hope this helps
