i know the feeling mate...

i lost like 10 cds trying to do the tokyo extrem racer save game patch.

i came to the conclusion if you try and it works great otherwise don't bother!! i had many many hours of frustration and coasters and no one could give me any useful advice!

after using many different burning progs/lba patches/self-boot/non-self boot its far easier to find the iso already patched.
it might even be better to order from hong kong.

see ya

`- Proudly Presents:

Game.....: Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2 Save Bug Fix

Origin...: USA - NTSC - Filename.....: E-TXR2SV.ZIP
Released.: November 3rd, 2000 - Format.......: ZIP
Platform.: Sega Dreamcast (DC) - CD(s)........: NA

You Can find the TXR2 Save fix file at: http://www.megagames.com/dc/dc_patches_t.shtml

Files included in the zip: 1ST_READ.BIN, audio.raw, cygwin1.dll (needed for mkisofs),
IP.BIN, IPINS.EXE, mkisofs.exe.

IMPORTANT: The files are pre-hacked to sector 11700 so if you use a recording software other than
CDRWIN you'll need to hack 1ST_READ.BIN on your own, refer to our Selfboot Kit for help
(and create the DATA.ISO with your own offset).

(If you use other directoy names please change them accordingly)

1. Grab your previous burned TXR2 US CD and copy its contents to C:\TXR2\DATA\ (create this directory trust it helps alot)
using Explorer or whatever filemanager you like.
2 Overwrite C:\TXR2\DATA\1ST_READ.BIN with the new one found in the TXR2 Save fix file.
3. Create the data ISO: MKISOFS.EXE -C 0,11700 -V TXR2_ECH -l -o C:\TXR2\DATA.ISO C:\TXR2\DATA
This will create C:\TXR2\DATA.ISO from the files in C:\TXR2\DATA\
To do this open the TXR2 file (C:TXR2\DATA)and in the box that says "address" type (or copy and paste) this in as you see it: MKISOFS.EXE -C 0,11700 -V TXR2_ECH -l -o C:\TXR2\DATA.ISO C:\TXR2\DATA

ALL OF IT! Starting from the M in MKISOFS to the A in DATA OK?!Good so far so good. You'll see the screen pop up and it the screen it will say the amount of time it will take for it to finish.

4. When done open IPINS.EXE it will ask you for the supplied IP.BIN and DATA.ISO (the IP.BIN can be found in the TXR2 Save fix file and the Data.iso can be found where you put the C:\TXR2\DATA file It will say something like "Hack Complete" when its done.
5. Launch CDRWIN, go to "Record Disc", check "Open New Session"(open new session is not supported by some CD recorders and you need to do this part as followed) click "Load Tracks..." click "Add...", select "All Files" in the file type and choose AUDIO.RAW(found in the TXR2 Save fix file)as the track file Click "OK" (the audio.raw file is needed in order to get the game to load on the system) and once CDRWIN is done compiling the cuesheet, click "Start Recording".
6. When CDRWIN is done go to the main menu again and go to "File Backup and Tools", select "Record an ISO9660 Image File"
on top, choose DATA.ISO as the "Image Filename", set "Disc Type" to "CDROM-XA", set "Track Mode" to "MODE2", check "Finalize" and "Write Postgap", uncheck "Open New Session".
Click "Start".
7. Enjoy your fixed TXR2!

I have done it and the shiznit works!!!!!!! Also

cdrwin don't work with my writer mate.

will not do multi session burns. not at all.

used various aspi layers and still no.

discjuggler and nero work fine with multisession but cannot be used for this patch

Try "FireBurner" since it's .BIN/.CUE compatible.
