HELP with Diablo 2 v1.09 fixed exe

I installed diablo 2 - Full Version. Then I installed the LoD expansion. Then downloaded the the patch on GCW and replaced the game.exe with the one contained in the archive. With no CD in my drive, when I try to run it I get the message to insert the expansion CD. Has anyone else gotten this to work? If so please let me know what I've done wrong. Thanks.

I also had the same problem as you with the fixed exe for the expansion. I take it you downloaded the v1.09 patch first, correct! I did and had the same pop up saying insert expansion cd. If you find or hear the proper way to make this work please notify me! Thank you and good luck.

P.S. If i find out how to fix this i will reply with the answer to our problem!

I wrote about this problem earlier with no replies...Thanks!

Being a basic-goof, I didn't download the Official 1.09, I went online and Blizzard patched mine up to 1.09b...The fix doesn't work with this 1.09b, so be sure you verify for us that you did indeed download the official patch-file for 1.09 and not 1.09b. If you did verify you got the patch called LOD_109.exe and that the No-CD fix for 1.09 won't work, please state that here too. I don't want to instruct a friend how to reinstall, patch and replace the game file again if the 1.09 fix doesn't work with 1.09

An XLNT person (DL) verified this for me:
Even if you have done the full install, you need to copy the d2music.mpq file (300 meg) off the play cd onto your hard drive.
DL noticed this wasn't in the instructions for some patches. So copy that to your game-directory if you are having trouble.
Thanks David!

I also logged in to battlenet and automatically downloaded version 1.09b and downloaded a no cd for v1.09b and it worked!!! I downloaded an unofficial update for 1.09 cause i couldnt get on battlenet and the no cd didnt work. I hope this info also helps.
