Black & White doesn't run!!! Please help me!!!

Hi everyone, I'm using the german version of Black & White and even though I've put the german no-cd crack file "runblack.exe" in the game directory, it won't start!
After starting the game from the start menu, I am getting a black screen for a few seconds and then I'm on the desktop again, that's it, nothing else happens!
If I'm trying to start the game with the original "runblack.exe" I'm getting a notification to put the original CD into my drive!!!
What else can I try do???

Having the same problem as your self, I have also been unable to get the game to work. However, in reading the system requirements and #####ing my video card. I discovered that I do not have the Direct3D required, and my card is at the minimum 8MB required.
I am assuming this is the problem.
Any suggestions, from anyone?

if your pc misses a requirement u cant play the game. i admit this game is really cool and all but i cant even play it anymore now since it crashes. it used to work fine i have all requrements. its just that this game is extremely buggy and unstable and its Lionhead's first game they ever published, took em 3 years... go to their site for technical forums...

Had the same problem as you, perhaps this will help. Make sure that the copy of the CD you are using is called "BNW", otherwise it won't run and you get the problem you discribe. Hope this will help you play this great game.

You only need to meet the video requirements to run the game properly - my cpu is only 300 mhz, not the 350 or whatever and I can run it fine

my advice would be to install the game and use the beta 1.1 patch, then get the no cd crack - you'll find a link to it's current whereabouts in one of the topics from the past week or so.
