trying to get NHL 2001 crack working!!!!

i recently downloaded the game crack for v1.0 A-P Edition (Asia-Pacific) and i can't get it workin' (damn it!).

i installed the game and replaced the exe and clicked on it and it says that it was not properly installed. but when i just dump the files on to the HD, swap the exes, it works.

how can i get the crack to work when i have installed the game onto the computer????

(i prefer cloning my discs anyway!!!!)
