green screen help please....
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but u guys seem to know ur stuff.
I wonder if you could help me. I recently brought a ps2 from malaysia (a jap machine i believe). And i brought a scart lead out there only to find there was no colour on my uk tv screen only black and white picture. So i decided to buy another scart lead (this time in the uk) which looked different (pins), and this time the picture is flickering green colour only. So basicly what do i need to buy to make my jap machine work on a uk television ? with no green jumping screen with the games. cheers pcha |

the green can be fixed by going into the system setup and setting the "component video out" to RGB instead of YUV. if the picture jumps/runs through, your TV might not be capable of displaying 60 hz.. in that case, only way to fix it is by buying a new TV.

1/ If you have a widescreen TV (not bought from Tesco) then it's likely to resolve NTSC on one of the AV ports; set the PS2 to RGB and plug in the component cable (Yellow/white/red). 2/ If not, then you cannot resolve 60Hz. Go to a Maplin shop and buy an NTSC to PAL Convertor (AV/RF). I did that when I got the Jap PS2 and used it until a month ago when I got the widescreen TV. It gives a perfect PAL RGB picture for NTSC games. Note that for PAL games, if you've go the PS2 chipped, it willplay perfectly without any convertor. |
