problem w/DVD region x

HI!
I've got a new version of DVD region x without the dongle( europ. version), a german PS2 and a neo2.2 build in. If I try to boot with the DVD region x disc, the PS2 shows me that red "please insert PS2 or PSX..." system screen. Can anybody help me?
