i want to install the sof GOLD patch but i get a msg the the registry is missing/invalid.. how can i install this 26MB patch?

If you install from the original cds the registry entries will all be correct. Do not apply any cracks before applying the patch.

the problem i dont install it- its not original CD- its a kind of image- i just copy it to my H.d-i have only one reg key- for the cd key.
when i try to install gold patch i get this error msg:
missing or invalid registry/INI entry
and then:
old file doesnt exist

maybe the registry entries r missing...?where to get them?
