What is a patch game ?

Hi i new around here i was wonder if anyone
could help me with what a ppf file for and what to do to play one on a cdr

A PPF patch file could be on of three things or a combination of them,

1, A protection fix to enable the game play of a copy protected original

2, A PAL / NTSC converter, to enable an imported game say from the USA (NTSC) to be played on a UK (PAL) playstation without the rolling picture effect.

3, A Trainer patch, which assists the player by offering a menu of cheats at the beginning of the game.

Obviously the major important one is the protection fix patch without which some game will not run at all or fail after a few levels.

You will need the PPF-O-Matic patch engine to apply any of the above patches which is available from www.megagames.com
