Help please!

i got a chip put into my ps2 and i dont know its name all i know is that u use a gameshark ver. 1.3 to play copies.
so i tried to copy a couple of games(tekken tag tournament, unreal tournament, quake3, ssx, squad X and SSEX3) on gigastorage cd-r's, with both nero and clonecd and only 2 of 8 games worked(SSX and SSEX3),according to the guy who installed the chip u can only copy ps2 games on black cd-r's is this true?
and what IS the name of my chip?

thanx

The colour of the cd should not make a bit of difference although a darker colour should be read slightly better. verbatim cds are known to be the best cds for playstation games as they have a VERY dark blue base and they are VERY good quality cds. u could try to lower the read and write speeds that will help make a better quality copy as well.

No it is not true, most of the black cdr's i have bought have been crap. I agree with blade about the verbatim's and also about copying at slower speeds to get better backups, also most of the games you mentioned above are made by EA sports and will not boot without using the EA sports boot sequence. ##### out playstationmods for more info.
