YES M8 THIS IS FOR REAL YOU DONT NEED A CHIP ANY MORE JUST BOOT UP DISK....SWAP FOR BACKUP AND OFF YOU GO IT WORKS ON NEW PSONE AND ALSO PSX WITHOUT SERIAL PORT
