Patching a ANY GAME in a PS ONE With a MODCHIP from MODCHIP.com
I Have a New PS ONE (SCPH-101) with a ModCHIP installed in STANDARD MODE of 4 wires.
I Have also the DIE HARD TRILOGY 2 Original. I've made a Image from CD RWIN everything correct as SAYS in this forum. Then i have patched the game, and this is my question because the back up is not working. 1) I have selected the patch from http://www.psxgamecopyworld.com what patch do i have to apply to the Image? i mean does any patch who is in gamecopyworld is to break the protection? 2) i Also have only the back up of my Wining eleven 2000, but my original cd died weeks ago, this back up used to work in an old PS with a chip installed, but is not working on this new PS one , Can i insert a PATCH in a back up? Thanks guys. |

For apply the right patch choose the right patch version (PAL-US NTSC-JP NTSC AND OTHER). the same patch will be applied to all the psx-disk.Some patch function in DOS other in windows.
that's all!! If you have other problems..................write ! |

Ok I've learned a little bit more about patchs, and for this case, i think i applied the right patch for DIE HARD TRILOGY 2, BUT is not working, i have applied the patch with PPF-O-MATIC v2.0, the file size matched , and sayd the apply was successful, now when i insert the game into my PS ONE with Mod chip of 4 wires, i have the screen. Please Insert A PLAYSTATION DISK (RED SCREEN)...
what the f.. is going on?? i have made NO mistakes on Patching and Copying. Does the PS ONE (SMALL WHITE ONE) really works with patched games and a mod chip???. |

It sounds like you have two problems.
Firstly I chipped a ps1 with a standard four wire chip. Mine worked fine with backups, but would not work with original games. I got the red screen that you talk about, very strange. After much surfing I found the answer. Most of the 4 wire wiring diagrams appear to be incorrect. Ifinally used the one shown at www.modchips-uk.com which is actually a three wire and one link wire diagram. After this all was well, and I've had no problems scince. Secondly some patch people alter the boot record (the black playstation logo screen) to incorporate ther name. This part of the boot up image carries the region code,in old psx machines this was not a problem as when chipped the machine bypassed this check. The ps1 checks this segment on all games wether chipped or not,and this being modified tells the playstation that the game is not of an acceptable region,so no boot. you can get around this two ways firstly use an import player boot disc,or after applying the patch to fix the copy protection then apply aboot up fix for the correct region for your machine. Both these items can be downloaded from the psx utilites pages at megagames.com Hope this has made things a bit clearer for you. Enjoy |
