I need some help with ff9 copying..........

i have sucessfully copied Disc 1 and 2... they seem to work.. i have played at least 3 hours in the game.. but disc 3 and 4 however won't even get to the title screen and freezes up.. it gets past the 1st sony screen then it screws up... do i need a patch for those discs?
i am new at this kind of stuff... can anyone help me?

I read that only the Japanese version is copy protected. The PAL version will be but it hasnt been released yet. If your copy is in english than you shouldnt need a patch. Maybe you are just trying to make a copy off a dodgy cd. If it gets to the first Sony screen and then stuffs up you are probably not copying it write. Try copying in CDRWIN. To do this, open CDRWIN and go to the 2nd button from the left on the top row. Up the top choose "Copy to image and record".
Also, change the error recovery setting to "Ignore"
And lastly, change the "Read Retry Count" to 10.
If you only have one CD drive you will have to use it for the CD-reader as well as the writer.
It might be an idea to do a test copy first to make sure it works. That should do it.
