Compatibility issues with different DC's??????????

Greetz all. Let me give you the scenerio. Myself and a buddy just purchased the DC package deal (2 games.. vmu.. etc). My other buddy has an older DC (last year).

I burned some games, and they all work beautifully on my system, but not on my two friends DC's. Anyone else heard of this? Are there different versions of the DC; ones that block the use of backed up games? Thanks for the input..
