Try to negotiate with someone beforehand on the shipping. It may be a lost cause, but a few are willing to help out a bit. I've sent stuff overseas via US Post Global Priority Mail. I have a friend in Brazil, and I've gotten him some software and shipped it for less then $6, and everyone wanted to charge him over $30. The Freespace add-on CD was gonna cost him over $40, I got it to him for $16. Try checking out some retail sites as well.
www.pricewatch.com is a good place to compare prices--they list shipping costs to US--at least it will help narrow down who to send e-mails to.
