PSX Dummying Question

OK, I am trying to make a backup of Dragonball GT final bout, and every single copy I make occasionally skips on the audio. I am witing at 1x using hogh quality media.

One thing I did notice was the ISO was small, and thus close to the middle of the CD'd middle. Now we know it is harder for the laser to read nearer the middle. Does anyone thing putting a dummy file to space it out more across the CD might help? It's common practice with Dreamcast backups...
