We can help you by telling you to stop using the knife trick. You might as well just throw your PS2 away now if you carry on using that method. You will knacker the tray mechanisms very quickly.
A lot of us on here use Messiah chips for no-swap easy booting. Regarding your DVD-Rips, what patching software/procedure did you use/follow? I dont need to ask how you are booting (breaking your PS2) them...
