Question Laser Problem With Cds (dvd Region X)

I need help from you guys.

My PS2 is a 30001 USA, with (I'm almost sure) a NEO 2.2. I swap discs with DVD region X. The thing is that DVDs work perfect, but I can't boot DVD region x. I get the annoying clicking sound. I am able to boot PS1 backups though, but not always. I really don't know which are my options. I am planning on buying a Messiah the minute it goes out for my v3 USA console, but meanwhile I want to fix this situation.

What do you think is the problem?
Thanks in advance

When I first got my DVD region X cd it booted every time I used it, but after almost half year of intensive use I had the same problem as you mentioned above. It was noted that my DVD region X cd had gone bad although I could not see any scratch marks on it. I had it replaced and now I am a happy gamer and it boots every time.
Check your DVD Region X cd, it might be scratched.

I agree, I have had the same problems with GS2's. Just because it isnt scratched doesnt mean it isnt damaged.

In fact I've tried my own DVD Rx in other PS2 consoles, but it works perfectly in them. So I know its not my disc, but the Ps2 itself. Anyway, thanks for the advice; I really appreciate your help, cuz here in Mexico City (where I live) its very difficult to find someone who ACTUALLY knows what they're doing
