Hmm ok.
 What kind of dvd-r are you using? the best are Verbatim or mac dvd-r's or some times others. But did you already played a dvd movie and does that work? if not then you have 75% tance that your dvd laser is broken! (this i see a lot on v3 conlose's!!) Goodluck
