ok gabbermp3 a few questions:

what dvd reader have u got? i have a BTC 12x DVD

what settings (ie speed, subchannels etc..) and version of cloncd did u use? i used clonecd version 4.0.1.6 and used their default gamecd settings

what game did u backup and how big was it? i 'backed up' star wars rouge squadon ii and it was about 77mins

how long did it take? mine read in about 10mins but burned to a 80m cdr in 30mins - (i only burned to a cdr to see if it would burn - i no the the cube uses mini dvd's so please no flames with this one!!)

did u get any errors when u tried it? although i got a massive image file at the end of it my log file was full of read and write errors which i initially thought were nitendo useing the 'bad file' copy protection but now im not too sure.

Ok, i use clone cd 4.0.1.4 and my dvd reader is RAITE RDR-108H (a old Reader out of an Yamakawa DVD Player). If i use the general Game settings (why exactly these?) it takes about 3 minutes to read it. For example SuperSmashBros Melee takes 786 MB.

i don't really understand what you mean by "perform the backup"....sorry for bad english knowlegde.
If you mean to copy it - i haven't done it. i just read it in and wanted to know if its possible to burn it on a minidvd-r and if this burned disc runs in my cube.
f you mean read, i have Clone cd 4.0 Beta 14...i leave everthing as it is. I just click on the read disc button, close the dvd-reader (as i said this strange raite dvd-rom) and choose gamedisc( i don't know the exact decribtions, my version of clone CD is german...) and that's it. after 3 minutes the disc is read in, and i have my image file......if someone could lend me a dvd player we could test it :-)
