A modchip is a chip that is installed in your PS2 to allow you to play backup (copied) games or import games (games from other countries). Cost depends on which chip you decide on. One of the higher priced chips is the MESSIAH.... It direct boots everything with no need for a swap.... If you can afford if get IT.......
