The short answer is Sell what you have and get a messiah. You have a PAL system so there are no excuses.
The longer answer is downgrade AR2 to AR2 v2.01 I dont recommend doing dvd-rs with your PS2 an a Neo 2.2. Stick to rips if you are too tight to get a messiah. I cant be bothered explaining why - but it wont take you long to find out if you browse the forums properly. Good luck.
