The reason you are getting the NO AUDIO HARDWARE is because you guys have the GTA3 backup where their are I think five corrupt audio files. You have to play everyone and the ones that the your music player say are corrupt you have to replace with any working sound file.

EX.
If you go to play GTA3.mp3 an Windows Media Player and it says its corrupt then you have to copy a working mp3 file their with the name of GTA3.mp3.

Thats why you sometimes need the b-loader. I think it just tells the game that their is no sound card so it doesn't check for sound.
