I think the Sims - if it's the original Sims you are talking about - is Safedisk1.
Safedisk 2 requires correct EFM coding. I'm guessing your drive cannot do this because of your results. But you should try using AWS, and also enable Hide CD-R Media in the Clone CD Tray. If that doesn't work then you can download a crack from GCW.
