Plextor allow you to downgrade without problems
Most other drives don't allow you but there is a tool (I'll think of the name soon and find a link) that will allow you to do it. Edit: Get MTKFlash here - but this doesn't work for all drives. Read up on it maybe if ur unsure by searching Google
