the place where I got the modchip is modchip.com. on their site you can either get it as a bundle w/ a gameshark, or alone. My son already has the gameshark so I got it seperately. I know Jay_83 said "when you've finished the mod then place some tape around the chip and put it somewhere away from contacts." Where should I put it and what kind of tape is the best? Do I tape it totally surrounding the chip? This is the info I got when I ordered from modchip.com:

Play all your PS2 and PSX Backups.
The Modchip.com PS2 ModChip is the World´s Best and Most Reliable PS2 ModChip. The chip comes complete with wires, and solder. Instructions & installation diagrams can be found online. All chips are shipped in anti-static packaging for maximum protection. Game Shark 2 (US Version) or Action Replay 2 (PAL Version) is needed to play PS2 Backups. PSX backups play without any need for either of these. The Modchip.com PS2 ModChip is compatible with every PS2 model.

One Chipset includes:

1 PS2 Mod Chip
Color Coded Wires
Solder

So as you can see they don't specify which chip it is. But by me looking on http://www.ps2modchips.com/charts/charts.php
it looks like this: I hope the pic comes out.

Thanks guys
