I would think..It's like saying I don't have to get Sony brand VCR just because everybody gets one, just get a VCR Deck that plays VHS tapes right? Format is a Format..
It's just that A03 and A04 is known for making PS2 DVD back ups..I heard other guys purchased different Drive that Burns
DVD-R not DVD-Ram or DVD+R and works fine with making 1:1 copy of PS2 DVD format games..Only problem I could of think is I guess you need to use Nero instead of Prassi program that comes with A03 or A04..Matter of Choice!!
