It's not a stupid experiment as it seems at first sight.Some new protections like Tagès is known to use some type of substance on the reflective zone of the cd so reflective properties were altered. In this way people are trying a lot of liquids to understand how the protections works and how the reader laser beam reflects light so a remastered cd will not work like original does.
