Ricoh or Plextor???

Hey, I'm new to this place and to the art of backing up my PC/PSX games. I basically need help. I'm about to waste a good $600 Australian on a burner, and I'm choosing between the Ricoh 9120A DVD Combo Drive and the Plextor Plexwrite. I've heard that Plextors are buggy, and I really need a dvd player, but the Plextor is cheaper. Note that I want something FULLY compatible with CloneCD, so that I can backup FF9 and other "hard-to-burn" stuff. Please Help!!

No, you don't seem to understand, I want people's OPINIONS!!! I already KNOW there both compatible with CloneCD, I may be new to backing up my games, but that doesn't mean I'm clueless!!! At least I'm not one of the 1000+ idiots who DON'T know how to burn FF9 and Spyro3.

####://www.cdrinfo.com They have very good reviwes on the drives you're interested in. Anyway, The Ricoh one has several problems as far as blanks are concerned. By the way, I think it's better to get a DVD-ROM and the Plextor. It will be the same price level and STAY AWAY from DVD-RW.

I had a ricoh DVD/CDwriter IDE combi and i'll be perfectly honest with you it was SHIT. I had incredible trouble making compilation discs and it pissed me off to no end. I took it back to the shop and spent the extra and got a Plextor 12/10/32 scsi and to this day it hasn't made a single coaster (and I burn on average around 250 discs a week with trading). The Plextor rocks mate get one.
