Which burner would be best.

Ok, I've always been kindof wary of the acers because i'm a technican at best buy and the gernal conception has alwyas been that they are not quality product, but everybody on this board seems to think otherwise. Everyone at work tends towards the yamaha's but then again most people here wouldnt know the difference. If i do get an acer i have 3 words, Preformance Service Plan. What do you mean that the TDK Velocd is an oem, Plextors and Richos are very good and sanyos are allright so that should mean that the TDKs are good units right, or what am i missing, you say they dont update firmware as often but you could use plextor or richo firmware updates right? Thnx for the help
