Yamaha isn't a "real" 16x drive. TDK sells Plextors, sanyos and lately ricoh models. That means it's an O.E.M company and most of these companies don't post new Firmwares as frequently as the originnal companies. Acers can duplicate everything (except DC), even SD2. I think there is a 16x10x40x Acer model. They are cheap. I'd go for that model!

What I mean with yammy not being a "real" recoprder is the use of P-CAV writng, Reading technology which is slower than usual. It also doesn't support any anti-coaster technology. Acers do...
