Thanks for all the info guys.

I must confess I am still a little confused as people do seem to contradict each other.

I have gone for an AR2 version 2.02 and a V5 No Solder MOD, waiting for a friend to do some backup games to test. Have booted some of my old PS1 backups without any problem.

I will wait to see if my laser starts clunking or my PS2 dies!!!
