How shitty! I knew that the mod-chip was needed to play backup ps2 games, but I didn't know that it was needed to play home video dvds too!

Does this mean I have to buy a regular DVD player?

Anyway, my friend is getting a dvd+r/+rw drive this week and I'll test it out then. I'll let you know if it works.
