thx, the site is great.

another question:
i wanted to copy my Destruction Derby Raw. i found a patch for it at megagames. it was called: Destruction Derby Raw PAL/NTSC Selector.

some patches are called for example:
Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX [BETA] NTSC-2-PAL Patch [PAL4U]
but what about:
Destruction Derby Raw PAL/NTSC Selector --> what does selector means?
is it important??

Using the PAL/NTSC Patches it is possible to convert a NTSC game so it will play
on a PAL PlayStation in full color and visa versa. The Protection Fix Patches are used to bypass the checks for a Mod-Chip. it is not important if you are playing a ntsc game on a ntsc playstaion or pal on a pal playstation. i hope this helps let me know if you need more info.

thx, i think it isn't so important for me.

now something else. today i copied three games:
destruction derby raw, driver 2 and crash bandicoot 3: warped.
for these three games are patches out there. but i burned them without the patches.
i used clony xxl (a copy protection scanner --> the cd's were protected with Psx/Libcript) to know what settings i should use in clone cd.
[READ]:
check (x) Read SubChannel Data from Data Tracks
check (x) Read SubChannel Data from Audio Tracks
max. @ Read Speed

[WRITE]:
check (x) Don't Repair SubChannel Data
check (x) Always Close Last Session
Writing-Method: DAO-RAW

i use these settings and copied these games. they worked in my psx (with mod-chip).

so: why shoul i use patches if my copies work without them??

you only need to apply patches when the game is proctected(anti-mod).the easiest way to check if a game is proctected is put it in your psx befor you try to copy it and see if it will boot up and work(with out getting the big red x) if you get the big red x than you will need to apply a patch to the game in order to play it

put in a original disk in your modded psx to see if it is proctected. if the game loads and plays then you dont have to patch it but if you get the x than you will have to apply a proctection patch.

i've copied some games. i found patches for these games (at the page you linked). but it didn't used them.
the copies worked in my modded psx. if all the games on the list are anti-mod protected, why worked my copies without the patches???

well you only need to patch the games that are proctected.the patches you seen for the other game are not protection patches, they are used to change the format of the game.example if you have say driver 2 and it is pal and you have a ntsc psx, then in order to play that game you will need to find a pal-2-ntsc patch. you can email me at [email protected] and i will send you a list of games that are protected.
