can't patch homm4 1.2

Using a US patch on a UK release is not a good idea because usually there are differences not only in the main .exe file but to some other resources due to different copyrights between UK and US.

Also if a new patch comes out later it will not update your current game without more tricks because the main original .exe will be missing!

It is better to wait for a proper patch. I don't think that Deviance had a reason to modify the original .exe which is included in a .cab file.

If this isn't a UK release then it may be a pre-release version that's why the patch doesn't work.
