Having problems with Digital Audio Extraction

Hi,
I bought a Creative 5233e CD-Rom. The drive can handle a DAE up to 20x. I am only be able to get up to 7.8x.
I already read a posting from someone who does know the problem and the solution is to get a higher firmware.
I do have firmware 1.0 and I need 2.x or maybe another higher version.
Can someone help me with this?
