Neo 2.2 damaging laser

About the neo 2.2 damaging the laser, I got my dad to install one for me around a month ago, does ne 1 know how much time roughly the laser will last last. I've got a v5 ps2, I'm thinking about getting a neo 4r or messiah, which is better?
