backing up my game cds??????

i noticed on the game index that the best way to back up your games to get past protection or something is to use nero i have a new cd writer and when i tried to copy one of my games for backup becuse it was badly scratched i followed the instructions on how to make the cd but it says use 1x speed this is a problem cause my cdrw is new and wont let me copy at this speed so when i put it on 8x speed it did the cd ok but when i tried to use it my computer wouldnt read the cd what have i done wrong?

i have prassi primo cd software if anyone knows how to do the same only using this software could you let me know cause im really confussed..........................

what sort of games are you trying to make back ups of? pc,psx,ps2???

get clone cd ! its the best thing there is to back up pc games and it gets thru all the copy protections. Just the other day i made copys of "max payne", "nhl 2002",and "madden 2002". and madden and nhl 2002 both have the Safe disc copy protection but it got past it. just make sure that when you burn them you put a check mark in the fast error skip option. and it takes about 40 mins per disc at 12 times if they have copy protections. it shouldnt be hard to find cuz its really popular.

if it takes 40 minutes, sounds like u need fast dump from daemon tools. civ3, which is safedisc2.4 or 50, copied in about 9 minutes, reading / writing, 20x. 12x should not be 40

I think it took 40 mins cuz first it reads the game disc, and thats where it gets thru all the copyright protections which is what makes it take longer. then it burns it in like 5 or 6 mins. but if the game has no copy protections it only takes 10 mins for the whole thing.

and psx games take a half hour cuz i burn them at 2x. but i dont think they have copy protections

seriously, you should try fast error skip or fast dump w/daemon tools, it should take ur read times under 10 minutes or so, unless ur 4x ing it
