Help! - No picture after messiah installation

Here's the situation. Messiah's been installed on my v4 PAL machine. All connections use enamelled copper wire. Installer has used alternate connections for D, E, F and G tho (I know what you advised Charlie, but he found the normal connections to the chip very difficult). He was careful not to leave the soldering iron there too long whilst doing these points tho.
Anyway, we now have power and CD tray works fine(opens & closes, and spins the disc), but there is no picture or sound when the PS2 is on. Obviously he's going to disassemble and look over it, but does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong? Any idea on what chip/connection could the fault lie with? Is my machine screwed? Should he go ahead and connect DEFG points to the controller instead???
Help much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

dose

first of all, remove the chip and see if it works without again.
if yes, the install was faulty. if not, the ps2 is damaged.. possibly a fuse.

Talking

I had exactly the same problem... but my machine played for 10 minutes before dying... Then the screen was blank, no picture, no sound, but the drive would open and close fine, but the drive would not spin up.

The problem turned out to be a blown Resistor... which is easily replaced with a more durable quality resistor....

Jap shit, what can I say?

May not be the problem with yours , but thought it may be useful for you to know.

Cheers.
