messiah install

trying to fit a messiah to a v5 ps2 does anybody know the best way to tin the copper pads abcdefgh this is the only part with iam
not 100% sure about i have pre wired the chip and set the juppers so far this went ok using kynar 30swg also had plenty of practise on a old ps1 board for connecting mnop wires
any help would be nice thanks

Dip the end of the wire in solder paste
Spray solder flux onto the target solder pads
Bring the wire to the solder point & touch the iron onto the two

I wouldn't have pre-wired the Messiah - that should be done last as you have to get the wire lebngths right and feed to the other side of the board.

My advice is offered at your risk.

I modded my second V5 with a messiah today (thanks charlie), and it works great. I highly recommend tinning the pads on both the messiah and the B-I pads, by touching 0.5 mm solder to one and heating it so a small drop of solder covers the pads. that will improve the connection ALOT and make it easier to make contact. just heat the drop and hold the wire into it to make the connection afterwards. also, you should try to start at the pad closest to the hole, and solder them so the end of the wire points away from the hole. that'll keep any unneccessary strain off the wires when leading them through the hole.
