Question Need help in ripping Resident Evil 2 DC

Anyone ripped RE 2 from the Original GD ROMs AND got it successfully hacked ? I tried every method possible, e.g. selfboot, bootcd, binhack, hack3, bincon (every time, it's a winCE game) and with a hex editor too. Nothing worked, it keeps reseting the dc as selfboot, and the boot disc method hangs at 98% during boot. Maybe some1 got the alpax release or a release that at least works, and send me the 0winceos.bin,may also be called 1st_read.bin.

You might now this but if you use Binhack it has a bug in it which makes it so WinCE games don't work without editing the IP.bin( so if you used Binhack on the Ip.bin and kept using this same file for all your other tries, this might be your problem). I had this same problem with Virtua Cop 2. What you have to do is download Ipbin4bin and open it up and find the Ip.bin and click on it and will have some options checked and not checked. Look for "SEGA OS used", if that is not checked then check it and click "Patch" and then close Ipbin4win. Then burn it and see if it works.

Let me know if it works.

thanks for reply, but i know about this bug and did patch the ip.bin before burning ( i always use the ip.bin for the specific game). I don't think it's the IP.BIN, because when u use a bootdisk, the first file read is either 0winceos.bin or 1st_Read.bin. i'm sure it has to do something with those files, but i didn't find any standard values like them u use in katana games.... i'd really like the 0winceos.bin from a working release to compare them in hex.....

I also want to mention that when i first ripped re2 from the GD, i was ripping the whole gd at once (0 key in dreamrip 2.01 by zhevon for the BBA), and the 0winceos.bin was corrupted. I recognized this when i used bincon on 0winceos.bin, and looked in the file with a hex and it was full of stupid instructions. However, i ripped the file again, but this time with file ripping. I binconned it then and it was much like the file from tr4 (also a winceos.bin game). But unfortanetly (<---- how's that typed correctly ? ) it didn't work.

DID IT !!!!

I DID IT!!! I dunno why, but Zhevon's Dreamrip did just read shit of the whole gd-rom when using the "rip whole gdrom" function. All of the file have been messed up, though the size was the same. I did a filerip then and suddenly it worked!! If y'all wondering why i'm so happy is because i already made over 10 (!) coasters in trying burning that game... and only because of i was so stoppid and did not see that those ripped files were all messed up.... -----CASE CLOSED!
