I have a 24x lite-on cd-rw and clone-cd. My lite-on supports raw mode and sub-channel and all of that stuff. Anyways, I was able to make a 1:1 copy of the Sims, but I can't get Hot Date to work right.
When I try to run The Sims: Hot Date, it tells me to re-insert the cd-rom and restart the application. I'm assuming Hot Date has Safedisc V2. I don't want to crack it or anything like that. I just wanna be able to have a working 1:1 copy. I would prefer to not use any programs like Daemon's Tools. Any help would be appreciated. I had the same trouble with MOH:AA. Also, is Daemon's Tools a safe program. Does it contain any viruses or spyware, and is it easy to get rid of? Does it take up a lot of resources and stuff like that. Thanks for the help. |

hot date
hello, i have a lite-on 24x and a while back i was trying to backup my hot date like u.
i was using the correct clony xl settings but the bugger didn't want to play in my lite-on cdrw or my teac cdrw but when i put it in my dvd drive it works great m8, have u got a normal cd drive or a dvd drive? cause they damn ATIP checks check if your disc is a pressed silver or a writable. because at the beginning of the disc the is an ATIP sector. this atip sector tells the cdrw what speed it allows to be copyied at and what brand of cdr it is. but new safedisc 2 protections check for ATIP because originals pressed in the factory work fine but cdr's have the ATIP and the game wont run please reply and tell me how you got on faz. |

That's my problem then, cuz the only drive I have right now is the burner. I'll probably just buy a dvd rom in a week or so that way I can make backups of games with safedisc 2. Thanks for the reply.

Because most new SD2 games also have an ATIP check as a secondary protection.
The ATIP is a small section on every CD-R which contains the length of the CDR, manufacturer etc. Pressed cd's don't have an ATIP. So if an ATIP is present during this check, it won't run. However, it is usually only cd-writers that can check for an ATIP so you can play the game from a CD-ROM or DVD no problems. But when playing from a burner you must enable Hide CD-R Media which hides the fact there is an ATIP..............bingo!!!!
