If you have jolted the PS2 and damaged the tray (now repaired) the laser could also have been doisplaced or the stepping mechanism could have been damaged.
Assuming all this Ne02.2, AR2/v2 and Pro Evo Soccer was working before the PS2 fell, then it is reasonable to associate your problem with the fall. Once past intitial game boot, the NEO2.2 is finished doing its job and any problems are down to the condition of the PS2. The NEO2.2 can contribute to laser wear if it puts out 5v at pin 2 and you don't have a capacitor fitted.
