Exclamation ps2 backups

Can any1 help me with ps2 backups.. I know very well how to do normal psx backups.

Before i start do i need a DVD rom to read the games....
I know i need a mod chip 2.2.....
Can i use cd-r blank disks or do i need DVD-R disks?
if i use clone cd do i still need to apply patches to it or just use cdrwin???

ps2 r just like ps1
clonecd them if writer compatible u not need to patch
cd games u do with cd writer
dvdgames u 2 cioces
1 search net find tutorial take out music video etc alot hard work burn to cd not gauranteed to work
or get a dvdwriter or a kind friend

ps2 help

So what your saying is that some ps2 games are compact disk
and some are DVD rom....

Ofcoruse i can copy them like psx games, but if the game is DVD
i need to rip the movies out? Why?

cant we just copie dvd games ?

You have to dlete the movies out of the game to get the file size down enough so that it will fit onto a cd-r. Or you can buy a DVD writer (Pioneer AO3 is the best) and then backup your DVD rom games to DVD-r. You can find guides for this at http://www.megagames.com

if i was to go and buy a DVD-ROM not DVD-r could my normal burner still burn the DVD onto a DVD disk say 4.8gig?

or would i have to go and buy a dvd burner?

No. If you want to burn DVD's you will need a DVD burner.

ok thanks so i go and buy a dvd burner and some dvd-r disks
@ 4.9 gig and use cdrwin or clone cd i will have back ups of my ps2 games???

With a neo 2.2 would i need to do any swap tricks to play them

Yes you will, but with neo 2.2 it is a pain in the ass. I suggest you get a messiah/clone which does not require any swaps, but if you want to stick with the neo 2.2 then search this forum for boot methods, I have seen a few posts on this topic.

with a dvd-r u cant use cdrwin or clone to burn dvd games to dvd-r media there not compatible u need the new nero or primo software plus dvd-r media are 4.7 gb not 4.9
