Questions about playing backups w/no mods

I'm pretty set on just not modding anything now. I think I'll only play a few games, so the price of the Gameshark and a good modchip would be the same as a couple games. I also have a lot of good friends with PS2s, and they are a little more loose with their money, so borrowing games shouldn't be a problem. I could always get one down the road sometime I suppose. Maybe before long they'll figure out how to make exact copies of games that don't require a swap/mod (we can all dream anyways ). But thanks for the advice guys, you helped me see the light As long as I'm at it, are there any places online (in the US) that sell used games that are reliable and sure to work? As you can probably all tell by now, I'm a tight-wad....thanks again.
