Angry Ghost Recon

What I want:
To backup the original Ghost Recon CD, even if it's just a CD where I can just install it from, don't care if I have to use a NOCD patch after it's been installed.

What I did:
Used CloneCD with correct settings for SD2
Used BetaBlocker to patch image
Burned with CloneCD, correct settings for SD2

My Hardware:
AOpen 24X CDR/W Model: CRW2440

Results:
When trying to install, got error message after 99% was complete, messege said something about bad .exe, installation aborted

Any ideas on how to make an imperfect copy, just so that I can install the game and use the NOCD patched .exe

Is my Burner SD2 compatible???? Do I need SD2 compatability to burn an imperfect CD copy where I can just install it from?

Thanks,
Emilio

well,i think that the setup exe is protected 2 so i would suggest you to find the safedisk version and see if you can make a crack with unsafedisk...

Got it to work!!!! Burned Ghost Recon successfully.

What I did:
Installed CLONECD, running in the system tray I selected HIDE CD-R MEDIA option from the menu. The game worked perfectly, installed and ran without patch!!! Any idea on why this works???

Cheers!

It's because the game checks if you're using a CD-R. You are probably running the game from your CD-RW drive. If you can, try installing it from a regular CD-ROM, which can't tell if it's reading a CD-R.

You can install from any drive. It is when you go to play the game that Safedisc 2.51.021 checks for the ATIP
